Lantern Cove began in 2014 when a small group of families in Khao Lak recognized a need for residential care that honored both the independence of elderly individuals and the natural beauty of the Andaman coast. They envisioned a place where later years could be lived with dignity, surrounded by gardens, ocean breezes, and the quiet presence of mangrove forests rather than the clinical surroundings often associated with elder care.
The residence was built on a quiet stretch of coastal land, deliberately low-rise and integrated into the landscape rather than imposing upon it. Rooms were designed with views of courtyards and gardens, shared spaces opened onto covered pavilions, and pathways wound through tropical vegetation toward the beach. The founding philosophy was simple: create a home where the rhythms of daily life align with the rhythms of nature, and where care is provided with respect rather than routine.
Over the years, Lantern Cove has become a peaceful retreat for families seeking an alternative to institutional settings. Residents come from Thailand and abroad, drawn by the gentle approach to personal support and the opportunity to live within reach of the sea. The staff, many of whom have been with the residence since its early days, understand that their role is not to manage people but to assist them in living comfortably according to their own preferences.
We remain committed to the original vision: a place where elderly individuals can enjoy the beauty of coastal Thailand, engage with nature through thoughtfully designed programs, and receive attentive care without losing their sense of self. Lantern Cove is not a solution for everyone, but for those who value tranquility, natural surroundings, and a non-institutional approach, it offers a meaningful way to experience later years.

Residence Director
With over 18 years in elder care and a background in community health, Siriporn oversees daily operations and ensures that each resident's needs are understood and addressed with care.
Kanya Wongsuwan
Care Coordinator
Kanya works directly with residents and families to coordinate personal routines, meal preferences, and activity participation, adapting support to individual rhythms and choices.
Anan Chaiyaporn
Nature Program Guide
A local naturalist with deep knowledge of Khao Lak's ecosystems, Anan leads coastal walks, mangrove observations, and seasonal excursions with a gentle and informative approach.
